How to Delete emails on iPhone?

An iPhone is a smartphone developed and marketed by Apple Inc. It is a handheld device that combines the functions of a computer, phone, and camera, and runs on the iOS operating system.

Email, or electronic mail, is a method of exchanging digital messages between computers. It allows users to send and receive messages over the internet, as well as attach files and documents to their emails.

The use of email is widespread, and it is often used for communication in both personal and professional settings. It is a convenient way to stay in touch with others, share information and documents, and collaborate on projects.

To delete emails on an iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the email or emails that you want to delete. You can do this by tapping the circle next to each email, or by swiping left on an email and tapping the “Trash” icon.
  3. Once you have selected the emails you want to delete, tap the “Trash” icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  4. If you want to permanently delete the emails, you will need to go to the Trash folder and delete them again. To do this, tap the “Trash” folder in the Mail app, then tap the circle next to the emails you want to delete and tap the “Delete” button.

It’s important to note that deleting emails on your iPhone will only delete them from your device. If you want to delete the emails from your email account as well, you will need to do so separately. This can typically be done by logging into your email account through a web browser and deleting the emails from there.

There are a few ways to delete emails on your iPhone.

  • Delete a single email:
    1. Open the Mail app and find the email you want to delete.
    2. Swipe left on the email.
    3. Tap Delete.
  • Delete multiple emails:
    1. Open the Mail app and find the emails you want to delete.
    2. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner.
    3. Select the emails you want to delete.
    4. Tap Delete.
  • Empty the Trash:
    1. Open the Mail app and tap Trash in the bottom-left corner.
    2. Tap Empty Trash.
  • Delete all emails from an account:
    1. Open the Mail app and tap Settings in the bottom-left corner.
    2. Tap Accounts.
    3. Tap the account you want to delete all emails from.
    4. Tap Delete Account.
    5. Tap Delete again to confirm.

Note: When you delete an email, it is moved to the Trash folder. It will be deleted permanently after 30 days. You can also empty the Trash folder manually at any time.

Archive instead of delete:

Instead of deleting emails, you can archive them. This will remove them from your inbox but keep them in your Mail account. To archive an email, swipe left on it and tap Archive.

You can also archive multiple emails at once by selecting them and tapping Archive.

To view your archived emails, tap Edit in the top-left corner of the Mail app and then tap Archive.

You can also tap Archive in the sidebar.

Recover deleted emails:

If you delete an email by mistake, you can usually recover it from the Trash folder. The Trash folder contains all of the emails that you have deleted in the past 30 days.

To recover a deleted email, open the Mail app and tap Trash in the bottom-left corner.

Find the email you want to recover and tap Restore.

The email will be moved back to your inbox.

If you have deleted an email more than 30 days ago, it may be permanently deleted. In this case, you may be able to contact your email provider to see if they can recover it.
